Orig. cloth with gilt spine title and colour illustration on the upper board. Outside hinges minimally rubbed, a few brown spots here and there, the last gathering and plate re-affixed to lower board, contemporary ownership inscription on free endpaper, maps evenly browned, still a nice copy. * A biography of Cook for young readers and with very nice colour plates. The plate showing Cook's murder is interesting because it is done from viewpoint of one of the Hawaiians on the beach. The book was reprinted in 1923. A Swedish translation was published in 1894.
